The principal of Classic Car Tour Australia, Anthony Smith has been a long standing member of both the Aston Martin Owners Club and the Ferrari Club and has been a car enthusiast for many years.
In that capacity he has organised many tours throughout our majestic state, knowing which roads to travel, where to stay, where to stop for a view, where to eat etc. He has put together what he believes is the ultimate tour of one of the most picturesque and varied parts of Australia.
The plan is to offer you the opportunity of driving each of his 3 classic convertibles: 1968 Jaguar E Type Roadster, 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS and 2002 Aston Martin DB7 Volante on a guided tour linking The Great Ocean Road, described as one of the best 10 drives on the planet, with a winery tour of the Coonawarra Region. The Coonawarra is the premier red wine growing area in Australia producing some of the world’s most sought after wines. We will be staying in beautiful boutique hotels linked by magnificent country roads, with almost no traffic. A classic motoring smorgasbord.
The Tour will take 7 nights travelling a total of about 1500kms and is designed to be as enjoyable for the passenger as it is for the driver. We will accompany you to make sure everything runs smoothly. Each day has no more than about 3 hours of driving, arriving about 3.00pm at our superb accommodation. This Tour highlights the scenery, with stops for photos, walks etc. It’s not a race from town to town, if you want a high speed rush, this is not the tour for you.
The Tour is only held twice a year and has been chosen to coincide with The Australian Grand Prix in April and the Melbourne Cup in November. The weather is normally superb and Melbourne “The Word’s Most Liveable City” is at its glamorous best.
Cost including all accommodation is $12,000.00 per car ($6,000 per head)
